According to research results at home and abroad, it analyzes the mechanism ofrubber asphalt. The powder mesh and content, mixing temperature and time are selectedto be the major considerations of rubber asphalt performance. Mainwhile, using the L9(34) orthogonal array to designed and completed the rubber asphalt performanceoptimization test, finalized the rubber powder mesh is40, crumb rubber content is25%,mixing temperature is195°C and stirring time is1hour.Using the exponential curve model and Marshall compaction method to completegap gradation and mixture design of small particle size rubber asphalt concreteARAC-10,and ultimately get the best aggregate ratio of6.1%. Through the SBSmodified bitumen Sup-13&AC-13C, rubber asphalt concrete ARAC-13&ARAC-10’sphysical-mechanical properties and basic road performance test, the ARAC-10andARAC-13’s maximum bending tensile strain and freezing-thawing of cleavage strengthare bigger than the Sup-13and AC-13C, has better low temperature crack resistance andwater stability.Taking the asphalt mixture simple performance tester AMPT (former SPT) to testthe dynamic modulus and phase angle of the rubber asphalt concrete ARAC-13andARAC-10, SBS modified asphalt concrete Sup-13and AC-13C. The test results showedthat: ARAC-10’s dynamic modulus is the smallest, and its phase angle is the biggest,this material’s internal damping is bigger, it can effectively weaken the vibrationamplitude of the tire/road vibration system, reduce the tire vibration frequency, extendthe vibration time of the road surface excitation, and play a good damping and vibrationisolation, energy dissipation, has better noise reduction effect in theory.Gap gradated rubber asphalt concrete ARAC-13’s surface structure depth andfriction coefficient are the biggest, besides the sliding coefficient of attenuation is thelowest on the condition of accelerated wear and aging, from the two functions bothamping vibration&noise reduction and slip resistance consideration, it can give thepriority to ARAC-10.
