In recent years, with the increasing of all kinds of vehicle ownership in China, as a result,waste rubber tires are also increased year by year. Therefore, it takes on more and more environmental protection pressure and the process of waste rubber tires highly focused on. The waste rubber powder can be recycled in paving pavement improving the road quality,prolonging the road service life, and being consistent with Chinese policies of constructing saving society, the construction of ecological civilization, the development of recycling economy. In this paper the small-sized rubber asphalt processing equipment and the new environmental rubber asphalt were invented. Optimum gap gradation and optimum asphalt content for environmental rubber asphalt mixtures are recommended. Performance and economic benefit investigation for environmental rubber asphalt mixtures will provide technical support for constructing environmental rubber asphalt pavement.The invented small-sized rubber asphalt processing equipment includes stirring device, heating apparatus and electric control device. Rubber asphalt processed by this equipment has good performance, stable quality and according with the design specification demands. The practical rubber asphalt processing equipment has many advantages including full process control, heating and stirring integration, easy operation, good mixing effect, etc.The new environmental rubber asphalt is also self-designed, its character with recycling the waste rubber powder, used oil, and adding modifier such as polyethylene, zinc oxide,4,4’-dithiodimorpholine and aromatic oil. Investigating proportion of various modifier among waste rubber powder and researching the mixing amount and mesh of waste rubber powder effect on the performance of the new environmental rubber asphalthed, the new environmental rubber asphalt recipe is proposed.The design theory and engineering design methods of gap gradation for environmental rubber asphalt mixtures are presented and gradation of ARHM-13(W) rubber asphalt concrete is selected as gradation of environmental rubber asphalt mixtures. The invented environmental rubber asphalt is adopted as raw materials,for three different gradations of new environmental rubber asphalt mixture ratio to optimize the design, recommend new environmentally rubber asphalt aggregate gradation and optimum asphalt content.The environmental rubber asphalt mixtures have better performance at high temperature stability,water stability,low temperature crack resistance and skid resistance in comparing to SMA-13 modified asphalt mixtures and AC-13 C ordinary asphalt mixtures. The environmental rubber asphalt pavement has many advantages in low carbon,environmental protection,low life cycle cost and low voice with excellent performance and perfect driving comfort and safety.The economic and social benefit is so remarkable that the environmental rubber asphalt pavement has a broad application prospect.
