In recent years, with the rapid growth of the bridges in China, namely, the variety oftypes and the large span and difficulty in building, altogether contribute a new chapter inthe bridge construction in China. However, the monitoring of the bridge construction hasnot been given sufficient attention. During the bridge development, there is bridgesdamage or even collapse that causing significant economic losses and casualties, therefore,bridge construction monitoring become very important and urgent. This paper launched astudy of the bridge construction techniques and monitoring work based on the project ofNing’an the intercity rail jiangning128m low-through basket handle arch bridge.The paper discusses in detail the development of the steel pipe concrete arch bridgeand bridge monitoring, combined with the research status at home and abroad, this paperfocus on the key technical problems in the construction and monitoring work; based on theprinciple of finite element analysis and using MIDAS CIVIL2006and Dr. bridge modelwe established the bridge model for structural analysis calculation.The measures in this paper conform to the relevant regulation of China’s high-speedrailway bridges. First, this paper carries out the theoretical analysis calculation of theinfluence from the bridge deflection, stress as well as safety of the Jiangning basket handlearch bridge. We collect the structural parameters of the bridge during the actualconstruction, analyze the data and feedback to the model, and adjust and then guide theconstruction, so as to ensure the security and stability of the bridge construction.Actual monitoring process shows that the bridge model using a combination of spacebeam element method is convenient for the structural analysis; the internal forces of the tiebeam during the construction phase rarely change, the deflection and internal forceschange a lot during the suspender tension and its support removing, but still in thecontrolling scope; the variation rule of the arch rib is closer to the theory analysis; withequally and reasonably force on the suspender, the actual cable force and the differencebetween the design value in the range of±5%, all parameters of the bridge will meet thespecifications and design requirements.Finally, through the whole monitoring process, this paper draws some significantconclusions.
