The maintenance of concrete pavements shows that, the common sealing materials, suchas asphalt, fish bone shape rubber, and bi-constituent polyurethane, tend to be Detection ofadhesive debonding, ageing crack, and un-waterproof, after two climatic cycle under strongultraviolet ray in south china district. It should be cleaned and re-grouted to repair thepavements. The long duration sealing materials are the difficult problem in maintenance of thepavement joint. As far as the sealing materials and the stress model and the elastic behaviors of concretepavements are concerned, little research had been carried out before. There is also littleresearch on the duration and the adhesive of sealing materials of concrete pavements. The present investigation systematically assesses the mechanical performances ofconcrete pavements using finite element simulating method, and accordingly develops a newsealing materials. The application shows that this new sealing materials have a good effect onimproving the sealing performance of concrete pavement joint. In detail, finite element analysis was presented for the jonit structures, and the effects ofdifferent width and depth of the pavement joint. The elastic behaviors and capability ofdeforming, and stress/strain of sealing materials were investigated as well. The optimizedratio of width to depth was determined finally. The analysis was also presented for thecomparion of deforming capability of high strength and low modulus silicone rubber. Thehigh and low stress behaviors and the cycle tension and compression adhesive performancesand the corresponding destruction types were studied. The adaptive stress type for longduration concrete pavements were presented. Meanwhile, the ultraviolet ray and thermalageing tests shows good effects, and the adhesive performance to concrete and the cooltension/heat compression behaviors of the sealing materials are also focused. The low stress silicone sealing rubber was prepared. Finally, the practical pavement application of differentclimate district is presented.
