Distribution systems play an important role in the modern society by providing electricpowers to the customs as the connection of the whole power system and the load points. Distribution system reliability evaluation makes a significant contribution tosecure and reliable power supply, provides references to the design and construction ofdistribution networks and improves operations and management of distribution systems.Based on researched the mathematical models and the Complete Probability Equivalentmethod, compared and analyzed the various methods the Failure Mode and Effect AnalysisMethod base on element combination relationship has been choose. Through Matlabmodeling of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis Method, exploited a software of distributionsystem reliability evaluation. In the paper, a detailed description of software developmentideas and use the process, can learn the Distribution System Reliability from software, andgive an example to demonstrate the use of the software.The software is of graphic and visual interface, conveniently in operating and is suitablefor the reliability evaluation of various distribution systems. For different nodes distributionsystem, only need to change the original data can be calculated for different distributionsystem reliability, the distribution system reliability degree can be learn from the software.The software not only calculate the reliability of the load point, but also can calculate for anyone of the point, more important is the method have good expansibility, and the paper pointedout that the software program can developing part.In addition, the complex network equivalent to become simple radial main feedersystem. From the line load margin determination, system network structure of the tree,establish the complex distribution system reliability evaluation algorithm, presents adescription of the method of network. The algorithm overcomes the Failure Mode and EffectAnalysis Method is difficult to describe the complex distribution system disadvantages, andgive an example to demonstrate the use of the software.Finally, research the method to improve the reliability of distribution system, analysedthe main factors of the influence of distribution system reliability, and discuss the method toimprove the distribution system reliability.
