In summer, because the temperature and the load often fluctuate, the direct air-cooled units often work in variable conditions, in order to improve the cooling effect of the spray humidification system comprehensively and solve its economy and security problems preferably, it is really necessary to undertake optimizing designing for the spray humidification system under design condition and variable conditions.Taking a600MW directed air-cooled units as research object and combining the computational fluid dynamics, this article has built the numerical computational model by use of the FLUENT numerical simulation software, and on the basis of thermodynamic calculation that related with directed air cooled unit, combined with the coal-saving benefit resulted from exhausted pressure drop and the cost of water injection, the mathematical model of net income has been built.In terms of optimization design, first, taking the net income as optimization object, the nozzles’position in the unit has been optimized under design condition; mean well, the impact of atomization pressure, atomization angle, flow coefficient and bore diameter on cooling effect has been studied. Afterwards, to make the spray humidification system achieve maximum net income under variable conditions, the nozzles’position in the unit and the operation method has been adjusted and optimized, and by use of simulation experiments, the maximum net income in each condition has been calculated as well as the most appropriate water injection; At last, the article analyzed the behavior of the maximum net income and the most appropriate water injection when the price of desalting water and coal changes. On the basis of the mathematical model and the calculated result related, the maximum net income and the most appropriate water injection in each condition can be calculated when the price of desalting water and coal changes. The calculated results and the research conclusions can provide instructions for the installation and operation of the spray humidification system.
