As the scale of municipal heating and heat supply network continues to expand, traditional management can’t satisfy the requirements of rapid development of heat supply network nowadays. Updates of information and enquiries of pipeline sections are hard to adapt to today’s urban development. The simplified principles and methods of modeling heat supply network are introduced firstly in this master degree dissertation. On this basis, the properties of heat supply network model, which is presented as a matrix are analyzed. Next, basic concepts and technologies of geographic information system are introduced, and the flow charts of geographic information system are also given, founding the hydraulic calculation of heat supply network. Finally, a mathematical model is established according to the basic formulae and related theory of hydraulic calculation of heat supply network. The above model is solved with a Visual Basic program employing the basic circuit method, to obtain the flux, pressure drop and loss in various pipe. The analytical results of heat supply network can play a guiding role in safe operation of heat supply network.
