The Battery, a kind of energy converter, has many advantages and is one kind of indeispensable apparatus in living and producting. With the advocation of the "Green Energy" in the word, it is no doubt that the battery is applied in vvildlier ranges. But the shortage of the battery. e.g. the short lifetime, the short endurance the high cost of maintance and using, etc., limit the further application of the electric vihecle(EV).In this paper, it is researched on the desigen of EV charging and discharging system, of the design of the system to do some in-depth discussion and there maybe some useful experience in further appliance of EV.First, it is introduced and analvsed that the the common tvpe and the performances parameters of the EV battery. It is also compared that the principle and the method of the traditional charging and those of fast-charging. In view of the requirement of the above function, it is put forward that the solution is that and advanced microcontroller is used as the main control part, the central control and scattered collection are used at the same time. The paper introduce the choice of SCM, the collection of the battery parameters, the main modules of hardwares, such as the protection circuit and equalization circuit, external communication circuit, and the transformation circuit of the power supply. The design software, Keil. is used to design the software environment and the software solutions. Battery management system of hree main work process:charge and discharge and standby do the software design. We also make control software for the above three process. Finally, we make lots of test and collect data to prove the effectiveness and feasibility of the (dis)charging system.
