With social prosperity greatly enriched and the level of material and spiritual life gradually improved in China, the concept of highway construction has been constantly renovated and developed. In2004, department of transportation in China put forward "safety, environmental protection, comfort, harmony" as the core of new concept in highway design, and considered meeting demands of passengers the most crucial part in work. One after another in the country launched a number of influential demonstration projects of highway, with which a significant influence would be seen in the future. This new idea also imparted new intention into landscape construction on highways. To be people-oriented, combine environmental beautification with satisfying users’needs from every aspect, improve travel experience, construct safe, economical, efficient traffic projects as well as humanistic, unique visual corridor becomes a new task of landscape work with highway construction.Based on humanistic perspective, from the points of passengers’need of safety, visual experience and service, this article has primarily discussed the design method of highway landscape in central segregation belt, along the route and in service areas. The main contents and conclusions are listed as below:(1) Based on dynamic driving simulation experiments for100drivers, the article researches on reasonable length and appropriate color mix of central segregation belt on highway by analyzing drivers’psychological sense to different simulative situations with the method of psychological multistage evaluation.(2) Based on dynamic visual psychology of passengers on highways, the article has discussed the method of visual design along the route of highway, which is primarily based on landscape visual quality evaluation and visual sensitivity evaluation, then supported the method with Sizimei Expressway in Sichuan province and made this article more instructive.(3) The article has analyzed the corresponding relations of users’demands and functions, facilities and service in service area on expressway, which the summary of landscape design method of service area is primarily based on. Then the article analyzed in more details of service area landscape design with an actual project, in the hope of providing reference and examples for future research and work.
