The paper introduces the definition,headspring and harm of the harmonics. Theneed of harmonics suppression, the methods of harmonics suppression, the internationaland domestic standards of harmonics suppression the classification, parts and workprinciple of the shunt APF are introduced. The overseas and home history, developmentand actuality of APF (Active Power Filter)are described.The precise and real-time detection of harmonics current is an important part of theshunt APF. Several harmonics current detection methods are analysed in this paper. Theip,iq instantaneous harmonics current detection method and the any-time harmonicsinstantaneous current detection method based on instantaneous reactive power theory areanalysed detailedly. The derivations of the two harmonics current detection method aregiven. Based on the low-pass filter performance that the harmonics current detectionmethods needs, the second-order Butterworth low-pass filter is selected to distill thefundamental component or harmonic command signal.The triangular wave controll algorithm, the hysteresis current controll algorithmand the improved triangular wave controll algorithm are introduced. In order to verify thecorrectness and real-time of the used harmonics current detection methods and thecontrol strategies, the simulation model of the shunt APF is builted in the MATLABSIMULINK. The effectiveness of the harmonics current detection methods and thecontrol strategies are verified with voltage distortion or wothout voltage distortion on ACside. The simulation results shows that the filtering effect is better by using the usedharmonics current detection methods and control strategies. The dynamic compensationproperty is better.On the base of theoretical analysis and MATLAB simulation research, the shuntAPF based on digital signal processor TMS320F2812has been designed, anexperimental prototype is develoded. the compositive parts of the shunt APF are introduced. The calculation of the components paremeters are given. Initial research onthe shunt active power filter has been done....
