This paper discussed the200kW tidal current turbine including external loadscalculation, finite element analysis modeling and dynamic characteristic analysis of threeaspects based on computer modeling and simulation methods. In the external loads calculation, according to the actual measured velocity of the tide, itused five polynomial fitted the tide velocity with time. Proposed fluid momentum theoremobtained the tide of the external loads function with time acted on the tidal current turbine, including the impeller torque and thrust functions with time. Fourier series decompositionwas applied to transform the demand function into a cycle of harmonic excitation. In the modeling aspect, mainly using the Pro/E software fulfilled the three-dimensionalmodel, including the blade, hub, shaft and the simplified tidal current turbine. Utilized thesimplified three-dimensional model of turbine generate IGS file, and then as a geometricmodel import into ANSYS software, finally mesh, define contact and add constraints andloads, to establish finite element mode of tidal current turbine. In dynamic characteristic analysis aspect, mainly analyzed tidal current turbine and itsassociated parts’ modal and harmonious response. Through the important parts of the modalanalysis, obtained the top ten natural frequencies of the increaser and blade, and comparedthem with the external excitation frequency to estimate whether resonance occurred; extractedthe top ten order mode of tide power turbine, compared its natural frequency with the externalexcitation to estimate whether resonance occurred. Analyzed the tide power turbine dynamicresponse together with the incentives in the external loads, impeller and rotor eccentricincentives, verify whether the structural design is reasonable.
