As a kind of renewable green energy, wind technology has got people’s attentiongradually when the fossil fuels exhausted increasingly and the global environmentdeterioration continuously. As a new structure of the wind power generator, double rotorpermanent magnet synchronous wind generator can greatly improved the power densityand efficiency compared with general single rotor generator, and it also has high rate ofmaterial utilization so the manufacturing cost is low. Double rotor permanent magnetsynchronous wind generator is a hot spot of many major research institutions in recentyears, has a broad prospects of development.But as the power and volume increased, the structure defects of double rotor generatorwill appear. There are two main disadvantages: the cooling of the generator will becomedifficult due to the double rotor generator structure and the high power density; the fix ofgenerator and rotor is another difficulty because of the double rotor structure. This paper isaimed at designing cooling system and calculating and analyzing thermal filed of doublerotor generator. Concrete analysis is as follows:Fist, by studying the electrical motor, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and other subjects,analysis the temperature field of the generator, make detail analysis and calculation for theaxial cooling system of generator. Conclude a temperature rise calculate method of axialventilate cooling generator through the method of equivalent thermal network, that isdiscrete grid, make the parameter centralization, and write the equation of the nodes, so asto work out the temperature of the nodes, the heat transfer coefficient of each part is got byempirical formula.Second, analyze and calculate the temperature field of a generator that axial ventilatescooled by the method of thermal network and finite element analysis to ensure the thermalnetwork method is reliability.At last, design two cooling systems for1.5MW double rotor permanent magnet windgenerator, one is for of using one set of winding and another is for the structure of two sets of winding, and calculate thermal, if generator is hot, improve the cooling system machinestructure or optimize generator electromagnetic design so as to get reasonable design.Optimize generator design through accurately calculating the temperature; this will bringconvenient in designing and improving generator structure.
