On the basis of meeting the reliability, a fast start and load carrying capacity should be had for126KV vacuum circuit breaker(VCB). Because of the well starting performance, large output torque and controllable movement process of permanent magnet brushless DC motor, it provided an effective guarantee application for the126kV vacuum circuit breaker operating mechanism.According to the load characteristic126kV VCB in this paper, load counter-force and equivalent mass were carried out, and it provided a parameter standard for the permanent magnet brushless DC motor design. Salient pole type rotor of permanent magnet brushless DC motor design was putted forward. Through the simulation analysis, motor output performance curves were gated, and compared with the traditional model one. The detail research contents were as follows:Proposed the winding design method based on transition process. Through the analysis inductance and resistance ratio of the winding, the choice of winding turns-diameter ratio was determined. Windings were modified by using of the earlier prototype and open-close experiment of the motor ran with the126kV VCB. The feasibility of this scheme was verified, and it provided a design basis for salient pole rotor permanent magnet brushless DC motor design basis during the next step.Salient pole motor electromagnetic parameters, the choice of the main dimensions ratio permanent magnet material and air gap etc were made. The design of stator Groove and rotor structure were completed., the stator armature winding arrangement design of salient pole type motor were based on the transition process method of winding design. The motor simulation model was built.Dynamic process was simulated for the establishment motor model, the parameter curves of current, electromagnetic torque and stroke and some other motor output performance were gat. Analysis the parameters matched with126kV VCB performance requirements. And compared with traditional structure motor. The advantages of closing time, speed for salient structure were gat.
