In order to meet the requirements of the intellectualization and miniaturization in high voltage circuit breaker operating mechanism, and to improve the reliability of high voltage circuit breaker operating mechanism, this paper has taken 126 kV vacuum circuit breaker operating mechanism as the research object, and designs the driving motor which is used in the 126 kV vacuum circuit breaker operating mechanism. The driving motor has simple structure, small volume, fast response speed and reliable operation characteristic. This paper mainly studies the following contents:(1) Studying the energy characteristics of the vacuum circuit breaker operating mechanism. By establishing motor operating mechanism motion process model, this paper uses self programming language to get the driving motor rotation angle and insulation rod linear displacement curve, and uses law of conservation of energy to analyze the vacuum circuit breaker closing operation energy is 610 J.(2) Studying the design method of the driving motor. This paper uses the method of target parameters to calculate the structural parameters of the motor, and by means of the finite element analysis method, establishing electromagnetic and mechanical coupling field of the mathematical model of the driving motor, and using the field circuit coupled method to analyze the driving motor dynamic performance. The armature length of the driving motor is initially determined is 300 mm, and the stator outer diameter is 200 mm.(3) Studying two kinds of rotor structure of the driving motor. This paper uses the finite element method to compare the transient electromagnetic characteristics and dynamic mechanical characteristics of the driving motor of the two kinds of rotor, which are raised buried type and the surface-mounted buried type. The simulation results show that the raised buried type rotor structure can effectively avoid the loosening and falling off fault which is caused by the mechanical shock, and improve the reliability of the driving motor. Therefore,the raised buried type structure is selected as the rotor structure of the driving motor.(4) Online test between motor operating mechanism and vacuum circuit breaker. This paper develops a driving motor and builds 126 kV vacuum circuit breaker motor operating mechanism test platform to analyze the characteristics of time and speed of the driving motorunder different operating conditions. The test results show that under the operation voltage of200 V, the circuit breaker closing time is 37.83 ms, average closing speed is 2.24m/s; opening time is 25.43 ms, average opening speed is 3.35m/s, the motor actuator can meet the opening and closing speed and time requirements. So under the above 200 V operating voltage, opening and closing characteristics of motor actuator can meet the requirements for circuit breakers.(5) Comparing the two kinds of motor closing and opening operations test. The structural parameters of two kinds of driving motor are analyzed(TP0 and TP1), the volume of TP1 is70% of TP0 and carrying out the comparison test of the vacuum circuit breaker motor operating mechanism. Under the operation voltage of 200 V, closing time of TP0 and TP1 are37.83 ms and 52.21 ms, average closing speed are 2.24m/s and 1.85m/s; average opening time are 23.53 ms and 24.12 ms, average opening speed are 3.44m/s and 3.51m/s. The results show that the TP1 test prototype is far better than TP0 prototype in closing operation, slightly inferior in TP0 prototype in closing operation.
