The Research Of The Design Characteristics Of The Urban Wetland Park In China

Because of the economic development and fast growing population, more and more land has been utilized, which results in the decrease of the urban wetland areas. Consequently, the wetland environment keeps losing and the development and utilization of wetland parks have been neglected, which is the direct consequence of our promoting economic development at the expense of the natural resource. However, with the fast developing pace of economy and the growth in the living standard, people begin to pay more attention on the natural environment and ecology. As a result, constructing ecological cities has become the mainstream of urban planning. Besides because of the limited wetland areas in the urban construction, the protection and utilization of urban wetland seems to be much more important, which brings the construction of urban wetland parks into schedule.Urban wetland construction has been an important component of the national wetland protection system, so the construction of wetland parks is not only an concrete measure of the national protection and management strategies of wetland of different kinds and at different grades, but also an effective way of protecting and expanding wetland areas at present. What is more important, it is an ideal model of land utilization. But when considering the present situation of urban wetland parks construction, it can be found that there are still many limitations in this research field. For instance the designing and construction of wetland parks are too common, lacking features and themes; the utilization of their functions is very rough; and the wetland parks’culture and education concepts can not attract people’s attention, which only pursues the rational sense but neglects their functions in protecting wetland areas and ecological environment.In our country, the urban wetland parks are new-born. In order to make full use of their functions to preserve the urban ecological balance and further, to realize the harmony between man and nature, it is not enough to study and design them from the planning perspective only. Therefore, through analysing the defeats in the designing of our modern urban wetland parks, this thesis explores and studies the features of the landscape design in urban wetland parks. In addition, the research result can be applied in practice, promoting the sustainable development of our urban wetland parks, and according to different special features of urban wetland parks, these landscapes can have a better communication with man. animals and the earth, which can create a perfect and harmonious environment for natural growing, thus making great contribution to the construction of our wetland parks.
