Conveyor chain, as an important transport component of chain conveyor, its transmissionperformances the vital role affecting the engineering application level of chain conveyor.Atpresent our country’s conveyor chain adopts the roller chain drive principle. Polygon effect willcause these chains’ obvious lateral vibration and speed fluctuations, which will influencethe useperformance of the conveyor. Contact with the sprocket and chain is instantaneously, which willproduce severe meshing impact and noise, affecting the service life of the chain and productionenvironment. Therefore, study design kind of chain with relatively stable chain velocity, smalltransverse vibration, low noise and long service life is one of the only ways to improve theperformance of chain conveyor, ultimately increase the competitiveness of the enterprise market.This paper firstly introduces the history of the conveyor chain, the chain conveyor andcurrent situation of the development of both at home and abroad, emphasizes the role of thechain conveyor to economic development in our country and the world.On the basis ofclassifying chain conveyor, the classification and characteristics of the conveyor chain aredescribed, and then the double pitch silent conveyor chain research necessity is pointed out.This paper analyzes the meshing way and performance of transmission silent chain, andbased on this, advances a kind of double pitch silent conveyor chain, namely double pitchtime-share meshing silent conveyor chain and outer meshing double pitch silent conveyor chain.According to the coordinate transformation principle in the gear drive, analyzes the meshingequation between the double pitch time-sharemeshing silent conveyor chain and the standardstraight tooth sprocket. As a result, its initial meshing position equation, the final locationequation, the inner and outer meshing alternating position equation and the external into middletooth alternating position equation are all obtained. According to the involutes’ establishment ofcoordinate system and the coordinate transformation theory, analyzes the initial meshing positionequation, the final location equation between the involutes sprocket and the outer meshingdouble pitch silent conveyor chain. The tight side tension of double pitch silent conveyor chain isanalyzed, and the main inflection factors of the tension are pointed out.In this paper, the multi-body system dynamics and multi-body system dynamics analysissoftware ADAMS are briefly introduced, and then the ADAMS method of building and solvingsystem dynamics equation are discussed. The virtual prototype model of aforementionedconveyor chains and roller conveyor chain with the same pitch are established and analyzed inthe dynamics simulation way. The tension side chain fluctuation quantity, operation of instabilityand the meshing impact of the three kinds of chains are compared according to the results of theanalysis. Based on the result of simulation analysis, contrast test for transmission noise and wearelongation of the double pitch time-sharemeshing silent conveyor chain and long pitch rollerconveyor chain is done. The two kinds of conveyor chain of transmission noise and wearelongation is respectively measured by TES–1358and LCC–1500. Finally, the testing resultsare compared.
