With the rapid development of the city,road intersection safety issues by the people’s attention. The traffic conflict technique as a technique of road safety evaluation based on non-accident, road safety evaluation based on accident statistics compared to the traditional method, has the characteristics of large sample volume, quantitative analysis, evaluation speed etc. At the same time, the traffic conflict technique in the rapid development of applications, also encountered a bottleneck--by some traditional data observation means is insufficient, the traffic conflict data cannot be quickly, accuracy, effectively collection, to ensure accuracy of recognition of traffic conflict; moreover, the premise of intersection safety application of road traffic conflict technique is able to effectively judge and distinguish the severity of traffic conflict, because of the serious conflict is more close to the accident, also reflect the safety status of intersection, but the traditional conflict judging index is more a single, not accurate to judge the severity of traffic conflict.Based on the city road intersection vehicle as the object of traffic conflicts,trying to use is relatively commonly methord in video detection technology, accurate different background method, all of the moving vehicle detection and tracking through the intersection, Then according to the target vehicle of every frame image location, using homogeneous coordinate transformation method, get the actual location of the intersection plane, and other data, including instantaneous speed, instantaneous acceleration, driving direction Angle, etc.Then introduce the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, from the analysis of traffic conflict phenomenon, combined with the traditional assessment method of traffic conflict determines the identification of traffic conflict and determine traffic conflict severity need fuzzy evaluation factors, including the deceleration of the vehicle, time of arrival at the point of conflict, with other goals relative speed, after braking happened; through the analysis of each fuzzy evaluation factors impact on traffic conflict, were identified for the membership function of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of these factors, and the establishment of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of traffic conflict at intersection based on the rules, evaluation criteria, including normal through, general conflict, moderate and serious conflict of four kinds of conflict; according to each different effectiveness of the fuzzy evaluation factor, adopting the analytic hierarchy process construct the judgment matrix in the method, each fuzzy weights of evaluation factors, and calculate the weight set. According to the classification criteria of fuzzy evaluation factors, intersection traffic make identification and determine the severity conflict.Finally the feasibility of this method is verified by examples.
