Toughness, cracking resistance and deformation capacity of concrete are improved by adding rubber powder, at the same time, the rubber wastes are reduced to achieve the sustainable use of resources, but the strength of concrete will be significantly decreased after adding the rubber powder, which restricts the application of rubber concrete. Steel fiber mixed into rubber concrete can economically and effectively develop the function of steel fiber in cracking resistance, reinforcing strength and reinforcing toughness, solve the problem that the strength of concrete is decreased after adding the rubber.The basic mechanical properties of rubber concrete mixed with different volume fraction of steel fiber before and after high temperature are tested, comparing with rubber concrete and plain concrete under the same conditions. The influences of rubber concrete with different volume fraction and different distribution of steel fiber on mechanical properties and failure mode were studied. The following results are obtained:1. For the integral steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete, the effect of steel fiber added to rubber concrete is not obvious to the compressive strength, but the splitting tensile strength and flexural strength were enhanced with the increase of volume fraction of steel fiber. The steel fiber and the rubber powder added to concrete improve the brittle fracture characteristics of the mixture.2. For the layered steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete, the effect of the layered steel fiber added to rubber concreter is not obvious to the compressive strength and the splitting tensile strength. But the effect of the layered steel fiber is remarkable to improve the flexural strength of rubber concrete. The layered steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete is superior to the integral steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete in the ratio of mechanical properties and price.3. The quality of concrete has been declined after high temperature, mass loss increases with increasing temperature, the presence of steel fiber can increase the mass loss of the concrete after high temperature; The strengths of steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete have been declined after high temperature, but the incorporation of steel fibers can improve the mechanical properties of rubber concrete after high temperature; The effect of toughness of steel fiber reinforced rubber concrete after the high temperature is more obvious than that before the high temperature, and with the increase of volume fraction of the fiber, toughening effect of rubber concrete is significantly enhanced.
