This paper introduces Siemens S7-the300programmable controller and human-machine interface technology, which monitor TCD2016V12diesel engine and ZF gear box. The start, stop, acceleration and deceleration of TCD2016diesel engine and Drive、Reverse、neutral of ZF gear box are controlled by s7-300programmable, DSC1004digital governor, human-machine interface, analog input module and digital I/O modules on the base of MPI field communications protocol. The human-machine interface displays so many physical variables, such as diesel exhaust temperature, oil pressure, cooling water temperature, pressurized gas pressure, speed, Intake air temper ature, gearbox oil pressure and oil temperature, and enable the signal of alarming and braking according to the alarming curve and braking curve. Signal alarming or braking would happen due to crankcase overpressure, low cooling water level, or flow monitor ing with a series function of failing in locking the barring gear, opening the exhaust baffle valve, being ready for warming up the main engine and gear box lying in zero position. Furthermore, over-speed protection, emergency cut-off, empty and functions like that are also available. The digital and modular system which excel in high display accuracy, sophisticated controlling system, good reliability and easy for maintenance perfectly caters to the design of power monitoring system for TCD2016diesel engines.
