| The mix proportion and mechanical property of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) concrete are studied by orthogonal test and mix proportion design. Different limestone, basalt aggregate and mineral is used to mix with melt PET to produce PET concrete. The effect of mineral materials, PET and mineral/aggregate ratio (PETWA/AG), sand ratio, PET/mineral ratio (PET/MA), maximum particle size and materials of coarse aggregate on PET concrete mechanical property is analyzed. The results show that the most important factor is PETWA/AG and then are sand ratio and PET/MA. As coarse aggregate maximum particle size is10mm, the compression strength is the highest. The compression strength decreases8.6%and37%as the coarse aggregate maximum particle size are4.75mm and13mm. The35%and68%of sand ratio effect on PET concrete flexural strength slightly. Basalt is better than limestone as coarse aggregate in PET concrete. From high to low compression strength sequence of PET concrete mixed with different mineral is fly ash with5%talc, only mixed fly ash or PC, mixed fly ash with5%asphalt, mixed with mineral and without any mineral. The best mix proportion of PET concrete is PETWA/AG=1/3, sand ratio=35%and PET/fly ash=2~1. |
