Plate heat exchanger (板式换热器) is a kind of heat exchanger,with its manyadvantages such as high heat transfer efficiency, small footprint, compact, easy toclean, was widely applicated in many industrial filed.It is one of key equipments inthe process engineering.and a key equipment.in energy conservation and energysaving,too. Although the plate heat exchanger has many advantages above, the biggestdrawback of plate heat exchanger is that flow resistance and pressure drop is a bitlarge. Although the plate heat exchanger has many advantages above, the biggestdrawback of plate heat exchanger flow resistance and pressure drop is a bit of large.In the plate heat exchanger design, due to structural limitations,the effect of flow rateof fluids and pressure drop for plate heat exchanger should be take into considerationin the plate heat exchanger design.when the plate heat exchanger unit is running, weshould to consider the plate heat exchanger units overall performance efficiency andrunning costs, so accroding its best overall performance, we should to search andget optimized parameters.In this paper, the thermodynamic principles was used for plate heat exchangersanalyzing. Have got correlations between plate heat exchanger heat transfercoefficient and pressure drop of the fluid between the plates.From the perspective ofthe flow arrangment, Under the constraints of a pressure drop,considering the heattransfer performance and resistance properties of the total cost of the plate heatexchanger,the Parameter of plate heat exchanger were optimized. Under constraintson pressure drop, based on the structural characteristics of plate heat exchangers,Proposed a method: using one of the sides of the plate heat exchanger’s maximumpressure drop to design a plate heat exchanger, make full usage of the allowablepressure drop plate heat exchangers, improving heat transfer plate heat exchanger,reducing the heat transfer area. There,undering pressure drop constraints, using twoexamples show design optimization methods and to conduct feasibility studies forplate heat exchanger.When plate heat exchanger was running, requiring pump to provide power forplate heat exchanger, usually use a centrifugal pump. At different operating conditionsCentrifugal pump,hanv different head, power and efficiency, Rational use centrifugalpump,running at the right conditions can get a good benefits. In this paper, usingpolynomial fitting method to get some type of centrifugal pump’s operating characteristic correlation, the pump has different flow rates, has different volumeflow.In this paper,through different operating characteristics analysis, make analysisand research towards the flow rate of plate heat exchangers and heat transferperformance.The total cost of the plate heat exchanger unit includes two parts, purchase andinstalling cost and cost of power loss and so on. In this paper,make a mathematicalmodel for the total cost of a plate heat exchanger unit. Using total cost as the objectivefunction, Through adjusting the flow rate of the fluid in the plate heat exchanger unitto analyze and optimize the parameter, Through two examples, got optimalizedresults.
