A System For Space Situation Awareness (SSA) Based On Centralized Control

With the continuous development and growth of the national space technology, space resources have become the most valuable strategic resource in the military field. Space situation awareness capabilities are the core competencies of ensuring national security, space security, and space resource development. Space situational awareness tasks tend to be burst, the flexible scheduling and control of the space, sky and earth three layers heterogeneous network is also a core issue. However, there is no good solution to the above problem among existing networking systems. Based on centralized control of network forwarding technology for space situational awareness can bring the flexibility and reliability to mission data transmission and forwarding, which is more suitable for space situational awareness mission and network with strong heterogeneity characteristics.To face the challenges, in-depth study on the basis of business operations and functions of the platform design, combining with centralized control of network technology to design a space situation awareness system based on centralized control, solving space situational awareness of specific tasks, such as satellite orbit analysis, space weather, and other services to provide support and services. On the technology aspect, through the use of OpenFlow technology and development tools to achieve centralized control, by using the Qt programming development tools to write the interface of task presentation.The main innovation and works in the paper are as follows: 1) According to the characteristics of the space situational awareness system and tasks, combined with the heterogeneous space networks, we designed and proposed the basic architecture of space situational awareness system based on centralized control.2) We designed the core modules of the system, realized centralized, control functions as a basis for designing the centralized security control strategy of space situational awareness system, as well as the front and backstage modules.3) In accordance with the previous designed structures, we completed building experimental platform of space situational awareness system and showing some main tasks presentations on the platform, such as:satellite orbit calculation and space weather monitoring.
