A wide range of applications based on the PC servo-control system has seen in modern industrial production. The working mode and the design method are also diversified. Usually, the working procedure of P-command servo system is as below: Through bus, the host computer sends control commands to the motion control device where the signal is transformed into pulse sequence and sent to the servo amplifier. Inside the servo amplifier, the upper signal together with the pulse which is coming back from the encoder will make a difference comparison, so as to drive the servo motor.The purpose of this article is to design a feasible servo-control system for NC rail finish grinding machine. The first two chapters introduce the current development situation of the control for machine tools and calculate the hardware needed by the servo system. The middle part mainly explains the required wiring method of servo system in position-control mode. The key part of this paper will explain how to complete the development of the application by using LabWindows/CVI software and generate the specified commands in association withDFJH9030motion control card. The last part of the thesis tells something about how to do the FIR filtering for the encoder signal using Kaiser Window function, and how to obtain the dynamic performance of the system.Through the analysis of time domain, frequency domain characteristic curve of the system, the conclusion part of the article will illustrate the way debugging the main parameters of the servo motor based on the environment and the task of machine tool. The parameters such like, stiffness coefficient, inertia ratio, velocity loop and position loop gain. After that the ideal performance and quality factor are acquired.
