In recent years, the multi-span continuous rigid frame bridge is used more and more widely in the practical project. the long-span continuous rigid frame bridge with high-rise piers bridge has great advantages both in terms of technology and economy, especially in the Southwest and Northwest regions of our country. The stress state of the structure is very complex during the balanced cantilever construction process. In order to ensure that the construction process is safe and the bridge alignment and stress conform to design requirements, the stress and deformation in the construction process and operation stages need to be checked. Besides, as the lifeline, the bridges are usually seriously damaged in the earthquake, so it is of great importance to study the seismic response of the bridge. From what has been discussed above, the main work in this paper is as follows:Firstly, as to study the stress and deformation in the construction process and operation stages and discuss the influence on the stress and deformation of the main load condition, the finite element model of the five-span continuous rigid frame bridge--the HongNongJian extra-large bridge in the SanLing express lines is established to apply to large finite element software MIDAS/Civil.Secondly, the response spectrum analysis was carried out on the HongNongJian extra-large bridge by two different directions seismic input modes. One is longitudinal to the bridge and transverse to the bridge, the other is longitudinal to the bridge, transverse to the bridge and vertical to the bridge, some conclusions are obtained through the analysis. Finally, in order to analyze the response under the combination of the two different directions seismic acceleration of the bridge, and to further validate the conclusions of the response spectrum analysis, the dynamic time history response analysis was carried out on the HongNongJian extra-large bridge with the EL-Centro wave. According to analysis it draws some reasonable conclusions with the comparison of the results of the response spectrum analysis and time history analysis. From the analysis above, certain references about the design construction and seismic design can be provided to the HongNongJian extra-large bridge and the similar bridges.
