With the rapid development of the information age, there are more and moreTD-SCDMA/GSM dual-mode terminals in millions of households. As an integral part of theTD-SCDMA industry chain, the entire terminal design, production and network certificationaspects are inseparable from the TD-SCDMA/GSM terminal test instrument, reduce testing costsbecome the primary task of the test instrument.And the calibration of terminal RF power is the basis of the content of the other RFconformance test and calibration items need to cover all frequency in agreements correspondingto the TD-SCDMA/GSM band RF transceiver power calibration, If we can effectively improvethe efficiency of the terminal RF transceiver power calibration and reduce calibration time, wewill save most of the time during the test.In this paper, the main achievement as follows:First, analyze TD-SCDMA&GSM system characteristics and point out the defects ofrelatively backward power calibration method, then put forward fast power calibration functionprinciple and design ideas. And then based on the existing test instrument, introduce in detail theupper two system power calibration to different measurement items, and next part is the detaileddescription of design and implementation of the DSP to achieve fast power calibration functionat the physical layer side, after that, give results to confirm the practicality and good effect, theresults are accurate. Eventually confirm that the new power calibration method is a qualitativeleap in the calibration process. Full use of respective time slots of one sub-frame, achieve theswitching of the power and frequency between the sub-frames, calibration different power pointand frequency point, a configuration of multiple frequency tests to reduce human-computerinteraction, thereby reduce test time, and ultimately achieve the purpose of reducing test costs.The result of this paper has been achieved and has the commercial, combine test program,test efficiency has improved significantly, the fast power calibration test instrument has gainedbroad market acceptance.
