The system of cylinder liner-piston ring friction pair is regarded as the core of the engine, the lubrication condition of this system has a critical influence on the performance and longevity of engines. As a new kind of on-line dynamic monitoring method, acoustic emission technology has many advantages in the researches and application of tribology, such as non-intervention, real-time monitoring and high sensitivity etc. It is very important to use acoustic emission technology to monitor lubrication condition online to improve the engine performance and extend the lifespan. As the core of the research and application of acoustic emission technology, the collection and analysis of acoustic emission signals is a difficult work due to the complexity of acoustic emission signals. Under this background, a program which can extract and analysis the acoustic emission signal is successfully developed by using Labview in this paper, meanwhile the author make a brief analysis of the reliability of the program. The changes of acoustic emission signal with the variation of rotational speed, load, and viscosity of cylinder liner-piston ring friction pair in reciprocating movement are studied by the use of this program. The result shows that:With the increase of the speed and load, the parameters of acoustic emission signal go up gradually. The acoustic emission parameters will be smaller with the increase of viscosity. The acoustic emission signal will be the weakest in the top and bottom dead center in reciprocating movement cycle, while the signal is the strongest around the central area. A trend of decline of acoustic emission signals is showed in the central area. The greater the speed and load is, the harder the Time-domain signals are separated. The frequency of acoustic emission with striking activation are located at0.05MHZ-0.1MHZ. The scope of amplitude increases with the rising of speed and load.
