Piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair is one of the most important and critical friction pair in internal combustion engine, which has important functions such as sealing, oil control, thermal conductivity and support. The lubricating performance of piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair has a significant impact on the overall performance of internal combustion engine. To improve the lubrication performance of piston ring-cylinder liner friction pair has an important significance to improve the economy, power and durability of internal combustion engine.In this paper, a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine is taken as the research object. The lubrication performance of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair is analyzed under different operating condition of internal combustion engine. And, the lubrication performance of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair considering the effect of twist and wear of piston ring is studied.The main research work of this paper is as following:(1) Lubrication analysis of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair under different operating conditionA multi-cylinder internal combustion engine is taken as the studying object. The multi-dimensional and asperity contact lubrication model of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair is established. The finite difference method combined with SOR is used to solve the average Reynolds equation. The lubrication characteristics of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair in different operating conditions are analyzed.(2) Lubrication analysis of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair considering the twist of piston ringA multi-cylinder internal combustion engine is taken as the studying object. The twist model of piston ring is established. The lubrication characteristics of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair considering the twist of piston ring are analyzed. And, the relative parameters about the lubrication performance of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair considering the twist of piston ring are analyzed comparatively.(3) Lubrication analysis of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair considering the wear of piston ring A multi-cylinder internal combustion engine is taken as the studying object. The change of the molded line of piston ring working face caused by the wear of piston ring in operation is considered, a molded line of piston ring working face is set, and the lubrication characteristics of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair considering the wear of piston ring are analyzed. And, the lubrication performance of the second piston ring-cylinder liner frictional pair considering the wear of piston ring is analyzed comparatively.
