With the development of high-speed railway and virtual simulation technology, virtual simulation technology used in the high-speed railway is possible. It can simulate the design and construction of high-speed railway in a computer environment with virtual simulation technology. And it can see the actual results of the simulation in the design, and the ideal operating environment for the high-speed railway in the assessment. And it can provide a visual reference in actual construction. The combination of virtual reality technology and high-speed railway technology has important significance to the development of high-speed railway.Using the particle system, this paper realizes the electric spark model which expresses the relationship of the pantograph and contact wire, and realizes the rain and snow effects of simulating real train running performance. This paper also researches the existing three-dimensional shadow algorithm, realizes shadow effect to be suitable for the simulation scenario. All these effects enhance the realistic of the simulation scene.According to the theory of particle system and the characteristics of electric spark as well as the rain and snow effects, this paper designs generic particle system framework applicable to spark rain and snow effects. In this framework, according to the different characteristics of the electric spark, rain, snow, respectively, to achieve the electric spark effects and rain and snow effects. Using the multi-texture blending technology, we simulate the windshield of the high-speed train in the rainy day. Three-dimension shadow technology, in recent years, is also one of the hotspots in the virtual reality, which can enhance the realistic in virtual simulation scene. The different shadow technologies has different realistic. If the shadow is more realistic, the amount of calculation is greater and the system resources are spending more. This paper selects a shadow algorithm to add to the high-speed train virtual simulation scene. The algorithm’s amount of calculating is relatively small. And it can accept the visual effect using this algorithm. The particle system framework and the implement of the three-dimensional shadow is designed and implemented based on Microsoft’s XNA and Microsoft Visual Studio C#2008as the development tool. The electric spark, effects of rain and snow, and shadow effect of the studies in this paper not only can enhance the realistic of the high-speed train virtual simulation scene, but also express some phenomenon in the high-speed train simulation. For example, the generation of electric spark can express some contacts by the power bow and the contact line. The train simulates and runs in the rain and snow and so on. That three-dimensional effects add in Virtual simulation scene can be more realistic.
