Reactive Powder Concrete is a cement-based composite material with high strength,high toughness, high-density, high durability and excellent performance which is called RPCfor short. The steel and RPC composite structure make use of the interaction between steeland RPC, and it can fully play the performance of the two materials. The composite structurehas the advantages of high capacity, good seismic performance, easy construction, savingmaterials etc. Therefore, RPC will be widely applied to various structural system. In recentyears, some research on angle reinforced concrete short column has been carried out and theresults of some important research have been achieved. But, the mechanical properties ofangle reinforced reactive powder concrete column lack deep understanding. Therefore, it is ofcertain theoretical significance for research on axial compression and hysteretic performanceof angle reinforced reactive powder concrete column, and has a certain practical value forguiding the engineering practice.In this paper, aiming at the insufficiency of the existing RPC configuration technology,on the basis of summarizing research results at domestic and abroad, proportion of RPC weretested. The optimizing proportion and unconstrained stress and strain constitutive model wereobtained. Then, the nonlinear finite element analysis of angle reinforced reactive powderconcrete short columns axial compression properties and the hysteretic properties werecarried out. It can provide a reference for engineering design of the angle reinforced reactivepowder concrete short columns.The mainly research work is as follow:1. With the reference to the existing RPC configuration technology,combined with thecharacteristics of local materials,25groups RPC blocks were desiged to research the variablewhich are the the ratio of water and binder, the cementitious material,aggregatecontent, steelfiber content, the style of curing and the days of steam curing. The stess-strain curve of RPCwere obtained by experiment, and the rule of RPC compressive strength, fluidity with thecomposition, style of curing and the days of steam curing were obtained.2. Nonlinear finite element analysis was carried out for angle reinforced reactive powderconcrete short columns. According to the characteristics of angle reinforced reactive powderconcrete structure, bilinear constitutive model was used for steel, and the modified Mandermodel was used for the core reactive powder concrete, the static analysis on11reactivepowder concrete short columns with angle were carried out by the advanced finite element software ANSYS. The results are compared with the angle reinforced concrete short column,and the correctness of the model was verified. Then, the effect which is caused by spacings ofbatten plates, section size, various slenderness ratios, yield strength of angle was analyzed,the stress mechanism of angle reinforced reactive powder concrete short columns wasexplored. The ultimate bearing capacity of angle reinforced reactive powder concrete shortcolumns under axial compression loading was obtained based on the relationship betweenangle steel coefficients and the hoop coefficient.3. The hysteretic characteristics of angle reinforced reactive powder concrete shortcolumn is carried out. The finite element software Opensees is used to analyze11anglereactive powder concrete short columns. The results were compared with the angle reinforcedhigh-strength concrete short columns. The varying parameters, such as spacings of battenplates, section size, various slenderness ratios, yield strength of angle, axial compressiveratio, are took into account to study effect on angle reinforced reactive powder concrete shortcolumns hysteretic properties. It can provide reference for the seismic performance ofstructure system composed of this kind of columns.
