With the environment problems caused by traditional energy production, the effectiveuse of renewable energy has attracted more attentions, where wind energy has beenextensive use as a typical renewable energy. However, with the features of randomness andnon-scheduling, which brings risks to the operation stability and dispatch security of powersystem incorporating wind power.Due to the randomness of wind power and operation risk of power system, ConditionalValue-at-Risk (CVaR) method in economics is introduced in this paper, use line currentconstraints for the reliability of the system operating requirement, to quantify the uncertainrisk of power system incorporating wind power, and add reliability operation of systemconstraint to the scheduling decision model. Considered the economic and environmentdemand of system operation, build an economic dispatch model combined thermal powerwith wind power. Model solution in this paper, we consider the Monte Carlo sample pointsand the penalty function method, combined with smoothing technology, proposed two typesof algorithm to solve the model: smoothing method and level function method. Furthermore,a single period economic dispatch problem extended to24hours scheduling in one day, andbuild a new multi-period scheduling model. Numerical experiments are using an IEEE-30nodes system for example, by setting different confidence level, different risk value anddifferent output of wind power, we analyze the vary of total cost of system powergeneration, and risk confidence level affect the optimization decision-making, then comparethe calculate effective the proposed two new algorithm with existing algorithms, whichverified the effectiveness of the model and algorithm; for the24-hour multi-periodscheduling, calculation and analysis of different time of a day, the total demand of powersystem and output of thermal units.The study of problems in this paper are fully integrated current power operationenvironment, consider the uncertain state and actual requirements of system operation,proposed new models and algorithms using effective ways in mathematical and economicarea. The two methods in this paper can effectively solve the economic dispatch problem under some kinds of random factors, provide a scientific method for the optimal operationof the system optimal decisions.
