In recent years, the burning of emissions of diesel engine is recognized to be one of thebiggest sources of dangers to the environment in the earth. Social and car user raises a highstandard for the car engine to reduce fuel consumption and emissions of internal combustionengine and own the performance of both high-speed high-power and low-speed high-torque.Therefore, the development of the diesel engine is facing severe test. Diesel engine exhaustemission not only threatens the public health but also pollutes human survival environmentseriously. But there are also some contradictions between diesel engine power and economyand factory production costs. So in that diesel, improving engine power and economyconsiderably and reducing their exhaust emissions has been a common concern both at homeand abroad.This paper introduces the current research status and technology development trend ofdiesel engine and the development of emission regulations at home and abroad. We develop6106diesel engine to accord with the exhaust emissions standard of Euro III,with the testdata,it is discussed.The harmful emission of diesel engine includes carbon monoxide CO, hydrocarbons HC,nitrogen oxides NOx, particle PM, etc. The formation of pollutants and burning process isrelated closely, and the improvement of the combustion process depends on the characteristicsof fuel injection system and combustion system. So, how to choose reasonably fuel injectionsystem parameters to optimize fuel injection characteristic and obtain reasonable burningprocess is particularly important to reduce diesel engine exhaust emissions.Through analyzing the formation mechanism and influence factor of diesel engineharmful emissions, a series of countermeasure are proposed in order to deal with these issues,for example, purify in-engine:mainly including fuel injection system improvement, intake andexhaust systems improvement and combustion system improvement.And purifyout-engine:mainly include oxidation catalytic converters (DOC), particle capture device(DPF), catalytic reduction (SCR) device, etc.Through some technical theory analysis and experimental research, the improved6110Gdiesel engine is very good to adapt to market demand, and it provides theoretical basis andexperience for the future development of other model.
