The HXD2B locomotive which adopts the manufacturing technology of ALSTOM Company in France is the major heavy-haul mixed train in DaQin line. Its deadweight can reach about20,000tons. The main control system of the HXD2B locomotive is the microcomputer control system which is based on WorldFIP Fieldbus. Traction Control Unit (TCU) and Brake Control Unit (BCU) which are under the microcomputer control system play an important role in controlling locative traction and braking. The technology of locative body and electrical equipments in our country is on a high level, but the core technique of TCU and BCU is not completely handled. So, it is very important to develop TCU and BCU with independent intellectual property rights, which can make the HXD2B locomotive widely used in our country. This dissertation studies TCU and BCU in the HXD2B locomotive. Firstly, communication protocol layer, frame structure and transmission mechanism are analized in WorldFIP Fieldbus. Then the application of WorldFIP Fieldbus in the HXD2B locomotive is further studied, which gets ready for the definition of TCU and BCU network control variable. Secondly, the working principles of pantograph, main circuit-breaker and traction converter are emphatically analized under the traction electric drive system in the HXD2B locomotive, which is for studying the control logic of TCU. Finally, the control principles of brake controller, close-loop control of BCU and driver brake valve under braking and release situation are emphatically analized, which is for studying the control logic of BCU.Based on above research on communication mechanism and control logic of TCU and BCU, this dissertation completes the simulation software of TCU and BCU. The traction and brake of the HXD2B locomotive are simulated on the DDU semi-physical development platform built in the labrary. The results show that the simulation software of TCU and BCU in communication and control performs well, which is well prepared for further development on TCU and BCU. The simulation software can be used as a national test tool for DDU, which provides a development and experimental environment for laboratory studies.
