With the ever-developing technology and ever-growing human needs, the practice of technology-orientation in the enterprises of white domestic appliances, which is closely linked with people’s daily lives, can no longer meet the increasing diversified marketing demands. And with the trend of global economic integration and domestic enterprises’demand for opening up oversea markets, the varied requirements of consumers with multi-cultural backgrounds should be taken into serious consideration.This thesis begins with an exploration on the concept of multi-culture, which explains, on the part of consumers, the influences culture exerts on the consumers’psychology and behavior, and on the part of industrial design, demonstrates how corporate cultures and national design cultures sway product design. And then the thesis illustrates the current conditions of white domestic appliances, respectively the form variances between varied nations and regions, and their cultural origins, and introduces the widely-employed conceptions of localization and cross-culture design.According to the discussion above, it can be found that the impact culture imposes on people’s daily lives is mainly reflected on their lifestyles including their use habits, daily habits and aesthetic taste, and so forth, which contribute much to the form differences between white domestic appliances. And based on that, this thesis finally establishes a life style model of target users with the combination of quantitative research means of anthropological questionnaire survey which conducts a factor analysis and cluster analysis on relevant elements, and qualitative research method of Focus Group and Culture Probe.
