With the development of computer technology and growing intense market competition, requirements of CAD software providing more specific professional functions are demanding from all sorts of industries. They expect a kind of software which fits their design habits and can achieve their design requirements more rapidly and efficiently. While it is a time-consuming and costly work to develop a specialized software, it is an effective option for them to choose an existing generic software to carry through secondary development that meets their requirements.Car checking fixture includes inspection unit, fixture unit, clamping unit, sustaining unit, base and other accessories. Current design of checking fixture is that each component is developed one by one and step by step according to relevant requirements and then assembled together, which is a repeated and cockamamie process. It has to start from the very beginning in each design, thus previous achievements and mature experience of experts can’t be utilized, it also has a high requirement on design personnel. To solve this problem, this paper aims at feature of car checking fixture design, develops a set of support system based on UG open secondary development technique and MFC technique, which can help custom design car checking fixture fast and intelligently. The paper firstly analyzes basic procedure and function requirement of car checking fixture design, and puts forward the system frame based on convenience and practicality. Then the developed system implements project initialization, units exchange, property calculation, and adjustment of measuring points coordinates, in addition, the paper emphasizes the MPB algorithm, by which dimension of checking fixture base, layout of fixture and parts, and positioning and clamping scheme of parts can be obtained. Finally, it outputs standard parts and part details, thus the design of fixture is complete. The system developed in this paper can not only enhance efficiency and quality of fixture design, but also satisfy requirements of modern technology development. |
