The Application And Research Of 6 MW Generators

In this paper, a new branch in 2008 of the unitized protection of 6 MW generator-transformer from the Chalco Shandong Power Plant has been taken as an example, the basical analysis and actual operation for the unitized protection of small generators have been summarized, thus, a certain reference of the improvement of the unitized protection of small generators for use cam be provided.In this paper, the development history and research status of the differential protection of small generators, at home and aboard, have been introduced. During the development course of electrical equipment and line protection, especially the differential protection for main equipment, complete sets of protective devices, as the preferred power system protection, have gradually replaced the single-type protective devices.As the main generator protection, when short-circuit fault occurs in the inside of the generator, the differential protection should be reliable, sensitive and quickly cut off the fault. In this paper, the main principle of various protections of the generator have been analyzed in detail, by means of analysis of the logic diagram, the launch conditions of various protections of the generator have been carefully discussed, and the value of the calculation method and tuning requirements of various protections of the generator have clearly settled.Taking 6 MW generators as an example, by setting the fixed value protection and analyzing the fault conditions, in this paper, a detailed analysis has been conducted with respect to the application of complete protection device in the small generator.
