This paper propose a new rotor earth-fault protection with switch sampling theory, which sets up three group equations to measure rotor earth-fault resistance. By means of calculation, this paper analyses the partial derivative of earth-fault resistance versus each sampling current at different earth-fault location and under different earth-fault resistance situations, and then draws a conclusion that protection can reduce the influence of sampling current error by selecting different equations to measure earth-fault resistance at different earth-fault location , especially in low exciting voltage and low earth-fault resistance condition。All these are proved by static simulation experiment.
