Swine Artificial Insemination System of Luonan County on Shaanxi Province had beenresearched. The mode of three-grade system consisted of breeding boars station, semensupply station, insemination spot had been systematically found out through investigation andexamination. This paper particularly discussed mission requirements, construction standards,equipment and staff require for the three-grade system. At the same time obtained: thebreeding boars station could provide commodity semen fifty-five thousand portions per yearwhen it was breeding50boars. Setting up semen supply station must have two basicconditions simultaneously. One was quantity of sows, the other was coverage area. The areaaround semen supply station10km and the maximum not exceeding15km had700-900sowsthat had been included the mode of three-grade system at least.The effects of deep insemination on sows reproductive performance were investigated.Seventy-eight large white female sows were randomly divided into3groups.Group1was usedconventional insemination and inseminated3times.Group2was used deep insemination andinseminated3times. While group3was used deep insemination and inseminated2times. Theresults showed that the mean total litter size of group2by12.40was significantly higher thangroup1by11.39(P<0.05).However, the mean total alive litter size of group2by11.84andgroup1by11.07had no significant difference, and the mean healthy piglets of group2by10.52and group1by10.43had no significant difference(P>0.05).The rate of health pigletsgroup1by91.54%was significantly higher than group2by84.84%(P<0.05).Furthermore,sows reproductive performance indicators of group2had no significant difference with group3(P>0.05).These results suggest that deep insemination was favorable for the mean totallitter size of sows and decreased the rate of healthy piglets.
