Study On The Evaluation And Utilization Of Jinzao Persimmon Germplasm

Jinzao persimmon is a traditional specialty of Lishui, Zhejiang. The dried product had unique flavor, rich nutrient, benefit to digestion, and had tonic, expectorant, detoxified effect as well. There are numerous problems leading to poor economic efficiency of Jinzao persimmon production, such as lack of good seeds, breeding difficulties and low operating level. As a result, conventional techniques for germplasm resources investigation and collection were used to screen out the fine plant "Songyang6" by systematically evaluate. Furthermore, investigation, experimental study of the biological characteristics and grafting technology were carried on the Jinzao persimmon, which improved the economic efficiency of cultivation.1.Investigation results:Jinzao persimmon mainly distributed in Hangzhou, Jinhua, Lishui, Wenzhou in Zhejiang province and Nanping, Ningde in Fujian province. There are three types:fruit with numerous seeds, less seeds and seedless.The development and utilization are mainly in Lishui, Songyang, Liandu, Jingning, Yongkang(in Jinhua, Zhejiang) and Youxi (in Ningde, Fujian). The current study were mainly focus on taxonomic status, but few on the production, process or applications.2. Screen out a good plant-"Songyang6"-with stable genetic traits. The fruits were obovate, oval or elliptical, shape index1.47, average weight about25g, the maximum weight49g, seedless, green in early stage and golden yellow when riped. The contents of soluble solids, Vc, total sugar in fruits were20.2%,72.4mg/100g, and16.2g/100ml respectively.3. Breeding research revealed that the affinity ratios among D.glancifolia Metc., D.kakivar Thunb. Var.sylvestris Makino and D.kaki Thunb. were high. D.glaucifolia Metc.,and D.kakivar Thunb. Var.sylvestris Makino can be used as stock, but D.lotus Linn. not. Instead ed of D.kaki, Jinzao persimmon can be used for top grafting locally.4. A technical regulation of Jinzao persimmon cultivation was made, including the stock seedling cultivation, grafting, manage, build parks, water and fertilizer control, pruning, fruits management and pests prevention.
