Study On The Drought Tolerance Of Weigela Florida And Four W.Cultivars

Weigela florida is one of the most important flowering shrub in the northeast、the North of China, There was no report on water stress tolerance of weigela florida. In this article Weigela florida、Weigela florida’Goldrush’、Weigela florida ’Red’、Weigela florida ’Ruby’)、 Weigela florida’Royal’were investigated. Based on the experiment with two comparative methods, the PEG penetration stressing, the nature drought stressing. Observed and measured the plant morphology and the dynamic changes of physiological indexes under different water stress. Used the wilting index and subordination function method synthetically studied the tolerant of different water stress for different species(varieties) of Weigela Comparison the drought resistance of different species (varieties) of Weigela, provide a theoretical basis for Material selection for garden plants.Wiling index evaluation results under drought stress:The wilting insex increased with the increase of intimidate degree and hours. Effects of Weigela florida tolerable24days of natural drought stress; Weigela florida’Goldrush’for18days; Weigela florida’Ruby’for19days: Weigela florida’Red’for22days; Weigela florida’Royal’16days.The drought tolerance from strong to weak order:Weigela florida> Weigela florida’Red’> Weigela florida’Ruby’> Weigela florida’Goldrush’> Weigela florida’Royal’. Under drought stress, the relative water conten and soluble protein descended with increase of the stress level, membrance permeability and water saturation deficit, soluble sugar gradually increased, the trend of MDA、protein and chlorophyll is more complicated. Evaluation results of the drought resistance for Weigela florida and Four W.cultivars by membership function:Weigela florida and Weigela florida’Red’belongs to strong type of drought resistance (X=0.82; X=0.81), Weigela florida’Goldrush’and Weigela florida’Ruby’belongs to medium types of drought resistance (X=0.51; X=0.65), Weigela florida’Royal’belongs to weak type of drought resistance (X=0.30)Deal with PEG6000to Weigela florida’Goldrush’and Weigela florida’Ruby’, WSD and membrance permeability increased with the increase of intimidate degree and hours and RWC decreased, the trend of soluble protein、soluble sugar and malondialdehyde (MDA) is more complicated.
