Acipenseriformes affiliated to the teleost fish classes, rotate the fins spathula andthere are27kinds of sturgeons all over the world. Since all kinds of sturgeons had beenplaced on the appendix of The International Trade In Endangered Species Of WildAnimals And Plants Convention (CITES) in1997, the international community paidgreat attention on the endangered status of sturgeon.The protection and the sustainableutilization of sturgeon resources become important study issue for the world scholars.. This paper based on the sturgeon trade date in2000-2009from Convention on theInternation Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora(CITES) and theimport and export of sturgeon trade date in2003-2009from Chinese customs, weAnalyze the international and domestic trade status and annual change trend ofsturgeon.Further analysis the existing problems and the insufficiency in sturgeon tradedata management of China and CITES, and puts forward some Suggestions wish to helpthe resources protection and management of China sturgeon, and promote thesustainable utilization of the resources in China sturgeon.Through this research, we get the following results:1、The results show that there are68export countries and132import countries inthe international sturgeon trade, involoving all of the continents. European have themost export countries,accounting for44.1%of the total export countries, Asian have themost export exports, accounting for48.9%of the total exports.2、Asian have the most import countries, accounting for28.8%of the total numberof importing countries, European have the most imports, accounting for63.3%of thetotal imports.3、There are30sturgeon species(including11hybrid) involving the internationaltrade include Acipenser, Huso and polyodon, China contains14sturgeonspecies(including5hybrid).4、Egg and meat are both the main trade form of international and China sturgeontrade. Acipenser baerii have the maximum volume of trade in the international trade,Acipenser schrenckii have the maximum volume of trade in China. From the sturgeontrade change trend in2000-2009, the international sturgeon trade have the highestvolume in2000,2006up to the lowest; Our country export trade of sturgeon have the highest volume is in2005, the highest volume of import trade is in2004.5、Based on the results, we find that the native species have the most volume inChinese sturgeon export trade, the introducing and hybrid species as the supplement;the mainly export form of China sturgeon is the same with the international trade. thevolume of China sturgeon export trade show basically the same trend with internationaltrade.6、Besides, we also find that sturgeon trade data entry procedures of CITES is notstrictly, the date lacking systematicness, quotas set standards is not too perfect. Chinasturgeon industrial structure have to optimization, the industry chain need to beexpanded, wild resources quantity need to be raised.7、We conclude that CITES should to strengthen trade date audit and management,strict data entry procedures, perfect the quota set system. Our country should payattention to guide, planning reasonable direction and goal of the industry development,improve industry standard, in order to adapt the needs of the international market, andcompletes the work of keeping an appointment to CITES, Strengthen the scientificevaluation of hybrid species and the management of the exotic species. increase the wildresources recovery efforts, safeguarding our country’s international image.
