The influence of illumination intensity on plant height, biomass yield and main nutritional components were studied in the process of safflower growth and development. The variation of flavonoid, vitamin C, vitamin E, free amino acids and fiber were determined in the process of safflower sprouts production. Meanwhile, the effects of temperature on germination rate, germination potential and vitality index were investigated in safflower sprouts production. Mineral elements content were also examined in different parts of safflower sprout. This paper aimed at finding out the best combination of temperature and light intensity for safflower sprouts yield and quality. The trial added sodium selenite into nutrient solution of safflower, through compariing and analyzing the effect of different concentration sodium selenite on safflower yield and selenium content, attempting to seek out the most appropriate concentration for selenium enriched safflower’culture and provide information to develop selenium enriched safflower sprout.(1) The influences of different temperature on water absorption, germination rate, germination potential, vitality index and yield of safflower seed were studied. The results indicated that, there were great different water absorption in various temperature, water was absorbed slowly when temperature was lower than30℃, while increased crazily at35℃, increased by11.36%. It was better for water absorption, germination after seed soaking at35℃and vitality index, which was good for safflower sprouts production.(2) The effects of light intensity on plant height, biomass yield and main nutritional components were studied during the process of growth and development. The safflower breeding line3-10were applied as material to determine the plant height, biomass yield with light intensity of0、15、75、750、1000lx. Results showed that, with the increase of light intensity, the contents of flavonoid, vitamin C, vitamin E, free amino acids, fiber increased as well, increased by1.86mg/g、6.43mg/100g、49.67mg/g、128.97mg、5.31%respectively, which is higher than that in0lx.(3) The contents of flavonoid, vitamin C, vitamin E, free amino acids and fiber were obtained in the process of growth and development. Safflower breeding lines3-10were applied as material to measure the content variation of flavonoid, vitamin C, vitamin E, free amino acids and fiber in different culture days. After6-8days’ culture, the nutritional components of the above reached the highest.(4) The mineral elements content of different parts of safflower sprout were measured. ICP-AES was applied and then examined contents of9kinds of mineral elements in safflower sprout, and compared the distribution characters in different parts. Results revealed that, K is the highest in hypocotyl,22944.64μg/g, Na is the highest in root,12552.78μg/g, and Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu, Zn is the highest in cotyledon,8017.67μg/g,7706.15μg/g,240.03μg/g,42.03μg/g,15.03μg/g respectively. Adding1mg/L、3mg/L、6mg/L、9mg/L.12mg/L、15mg/L of sodium selenite solution into nutrient solution of safflower, to compare the growth condition and selenium enrichment, results showed that the application of safflower nutrient solution containing3mg/L-6mg/L sodium selenite solution could improve the quality of safflower sprout and match the selenium enriched mark.
