In order to explore the management economic mode on optimal resources allocation of household ranch in desert steppe, ninty five representative family ranches were selected in the desert steppe of Wulanchabu Siziwang Banner. The study was carried out with the baseline survey, forty seven family ranches were selected as the demonstrative households for the corporation study, while forty eight family ranches with the similar conditions were looked as the non-demonstrative households for the comparison. Demonstrative households of the family ranches reduced the stocking rate, optimized the flock structure and took a winter feeding and other means to explore the different management models on the livestock production and household income. The results show as follows.The area of ranchland of the demonstrative households was increased, it included the rent ranchland and manual ranchland. as1.33times as the non-demonstrative households. The livestock number of demonstrative households decreased and the flock structure changed. the number of breeding sheep’s increased obviously, through carry out the household ranch management mode, the weight of livestock is increased, unit sheep profit is raised under the breeding cost raised, the income of demonstrative household was significantly higher than the non-demonstrative households (P<0.05).Compared to the pre-cooperation, the average household income in post cooperation increased by52680yuan, the per ewe income increased by219yuan, the average net income increased21723yuan/household, per capita net income increased4344yuan. The average local lamb revenue increased85yuan, and per goat income increased29yuan.Compared to the demonstrative households, the average annual income of non-demonstrative households decreased54857yuan, the income of each ewe decreased97yuan, the average income with the introduction of the Dorper hybridization sheep was higher122yuan than the average local sheep, also higher227yuan than the local goats.We concluded that family ranch management to optimize the allocation is one of the sustainable development ways for the desert steppe.
