Seed Germination Characteristics And The Tolerance During Seed Germination And Vegetative Growth Stage Of Cancrinia Discoidea And Glaucium Squamigerum | | Posted on:2013-04-28 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:N Han | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2233330395965854 | Subject:Garden Plants and Ornamental Horticulture | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | In this article, native species to Cancrinia discoidea and Glaucium squamigerum kar. were studied in the seed germination characteritics and the drought-tolerance, salt-tolerance of the seed and seeding from the one-factor analysis in laboratory and habitat conditions the following conclusions were obtained:(1)The experiments of seed germination showed that temperature was an important factor for the seed germination. There was a positive correlationship between seed germination rates and temperature of C. discoidea. Glaucium squamigerum seed germination temperature was higher, under variable temperature conditions, the high temperature needed to reached30℃. Low seed germination in the optimal temperure condition indicated there was apparent dormancy in the seed of C. discoidea and G. squamigerum.(2)The experiment of dormnancy breakage showed that the seed coat permeability of C. discoidea was well, it cannot inhibit seed germination. The main causes were some inhibitory substances in the seed.750mg/L GA3solution soaking treatment can be an effective means to improve the seed germination of C. discoidea. there were some substances in the seed coat and embryo that made the seed dormancy. A certain amount of NaOH solution treatment can promote seed germination. Also there were some inhibitory substances in the seed that made the seed dormancy. Hormone treatment can be an effective means to improve the seed germination.(3)Seed patience of water and salt stress in germination experiments showed that different concentrations of water and NaCl stress inhibted the seed germination of seed of C. dwascoidea and G. squamigerum, germination rate decreased with the increase of water and NaCl stress concentration and the highest germination rate was get in the control; they have better drought-tolerance and salt-tolerance ability with GA3. Drought-tolerance ability of C. dwascoidea was better than G. squamigerum, salt-tolerance ability of G. squamigerum was better than C. dwascoidea. Under-1.76MPa water stress, when stress was relieved, the germination rate can be achieved the germination rate without the stress. It intimated C. discoidea and G. squamigerum had well the drought salinity adaptability.(4) Patience of water and salt stress in vegetative growth stage experiments showed that under water stress, C. discoidea and G. squamigerum a certain resisitance of drought. And the drought-tolerance ability of C. discoidea was better. The drought tolerance of C. discoidea and G. squamigerum in greenhouse was poor than in habitats. In the future breeding process, plant drought resistance exercise was needed to pay attention to improve the ability of drought. Determination and analysis physiological and biochemical indexes of C. discoidea and G. squamigerum in NaCl stress conditions showed that soil salinity mass fraction of0.4%was a criticalvalue for suitable for planting for C. discoidea and G. squamigerum.(5)Phenological observations showed that:the seed germination of C. discoidea was in late March, its life cycle completed in mid-May; and G. squamigerum seed germination was in early April, its life cycle completed in late June. Within30days after germination they entered flowering. The seed determination was early, growth was rapid. the flowering of C. discoidea sustainable to August, G. squamigerum was April to May. The flowering began early and was long. Their flower of beautiful color and shape was a rwere early spring flowers can be used for flower beds, flower environment, flowers and other purposes. they were the concentratedand dominant species in the arid gravel hills, barren hills, saline. They were best materials in barren hills green, highway green. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Cancrinia discoidea, Glaucium squamigerum, seed germination, dormancy, tolerance, phenology | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
