Cancrinia discoidea (Ledeb.) Poljak is a kind of early spring wild plant material in Xin-jiang. In this paper, we studied the Cancrinia discoidea on the distribution of natural condi-tion, the different light and moisture response, waterlogging resistance and slope protectionapplication to discuss the distribution characteristics, resistance and ornamental. After theanalysis and process field investigation, outdoor potting and indoor test, we attained the fol-lowing main conclusions:(1) Field investigation showed that: high soil water content of the bud leaf stage wasconducive to the growth and development of Cancrinia discoidea (Ledeb.) Poljak, but latersoil water content has no significant effect on it. The Cancrinia discoidea (Ledeb.) Poljak isprone to grow in sufficient illumination and positive side, the south slope growing and orna-mental effect is the best, followed by the east and west slope. Shade can significantly affectthe total chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b and other growth indicators.(2) Water and Light on its growth tests showed that the interaction of water and light hadno significant effect on its height, crown, flower head diameter, chlorophyll. The water condi-tion had no significant effect on the above indexes, The Cancrinia discoidea (Ledeb.) Poljakwas conducive to growth with75%-80%soil moisture unedr normal light. The effect of lighton the growth showed that shading levels lead to significant differences in growth, the highershading, the weaker growth potential; On the contrary, the less shading, the stronger growthpotential. When shading levels below45%, the growth of Cancrinia discoidea (Ledeb.) Pojakwill be severely inhibition. The growing condition under the experimental was worse than inthe wild, so did the ornamental effect.(3) Under waterlogging condition, the membrane permeability of its leaves was larger, the cell contents were passively extravasated, increased with the conductivity; the reactiveoxygen was accumulated, the content of malondialdehyde gradually increased; when inshort-term waterlogging, a large number of proline was accumulated and increased slowly inlater period. The Cancrinia discoidea (Ledeb.) Poljak has a positive physiological response toshort waterlogging, but the six days flooding will cause the leaves would lose green, wiltingand even death of the whole plant when treated with above6d waterlogging.(4) Although the life cycle of Cancrinia discoidea (Ledeb.) Poljak’s short, which wouldcause no landscape can enjoy in the later. But it has a series advantage of strong growing, barren resistance, extensive management and natural propagation. Therefore, it’s better tocombined with some other better drought resistance plants in the promotion using as far aspossible. When cultivated in large area, the population effect is good, which can take advan-tage of space. Once the propagation and cultivation were successful, it will have importantsignificance on afforestation of barren mountain, slope protection of road and conservation-oriented garden construction.
