In order to explore the phenology characteristics of terminal bud death in Paulownia, the relations between terminal bud death and programmed cell death in Paulownia were studied by the technology of morphocytology and DNA ladder with annual seedlings of Paulownia;the effects of photoperiod and nutrient on the growth、height and terminal bud were studied with the material of annual cross-section seedlings;the effects of buried seedlings on the death of terminal bud in Paulowniawere studied with annual seedlings in the field. The results are as follows:1)It was preliminarily thought that the terminal bud death of Paulownia was not evidently related with Programmed Cell Death;2)Effects of photoperiod on seedling height base diameter and leaf area were very significant. Appropriate photoperiod can promote seedlings high growth and leaf primordial proliferation、 increase base diameter and leaf area、extend growth period.24h photoperiod had most leaf primordial proliferation and basic diameter, the longest growth period, later terminal bud germination rate was supreme in hydroponic environment of cutting branches;3)Effects of nutrient on seedling height、base diameter and leaf area were very significant in12h photoperiod. Effects of fertilization in paulowniaon the high growth for:P> PK> K> N; P、 K fertilizer can promote seedlings diameter growth; P fertilizer or PK compound fertilizer has the most leaf number; P fertilizer and potassium K fertilizer had no germination, but terminal bud germination ratio of PK fertilizer was supreme in hydroponic culture of cutting branches;4) Effects of nutrient on seedling height、internodes elongation、base diameter、leaf number and leaf area were very significant in24h photoperiod. K fertilizer can promote the high growth basic diameter, leaf number, and leaf area; CK and K fertilizer terminal bud germination rate was relatively high in hydroponic culture of cutting branches, K fertilizer in24h photoperiod played an important role on seedling growth in Paulownia;5)Different NPK nutrient stopped high growth consistently in the same photoperiod;6)Buried seedling can realize some terminal buds alive in fall.
