Frog sparganum parasitizes in the subcutis skeletal muscle thoracic cavity and abdominal cavity of frogs.Frog sparganum has relatively high pathogenicity and causes sparganosis which distributes very wide. Sparganosis has been frequently reported in East Asia and Southeast Asia and it also has been reported in other continents.Sparganosis was reported in every province in China.Therefore, the study on infection investigation and correct identification methods has important significance on prevention and treatment of sparganosis.In this paper,428frogs were collected from market hall in Anren,Yongxing,Guidong,Yizhang and Jiahe in Chenzhou from May of2010to September of2011. The investigation methods in parasitology were used to conduct a survey on infection of Frog Sparganum in Chenzhou City.The results show:1. Via a careful inspection, the infection rate of frog sparganum was29.44%(126/428)2. The survey showed that the frog sparganum infection rates of Anren,Yongxing, Guidong,Yizhang and Jiahe in Chenzhou were as follows:43.75%,6.19%,7.33%,0.00%and24.0%respectively.3. The survey showed that the frog sparganum infection intension of Anren,Yongxing, Guidong,Yizhang and Jiahe was as follows:1-15,1-8,1-2,1-6,1-7respectively.4. The results of molecular identification are agreed with that of morphology identification.Total DNA was extracted from frog sparganum isolates from different geographical origins. The pnad5and prrnS genes was amplified by PCR and the amplicons were sequenced. The results reveal that the intra-specific differences were low, while the inter-specific differences were significantly higher. It can be concluded that The pnad5and prrnS sequences make the genetic marker for frog sparganum.The investigate obtained data about infection of frog Sparganum in Chenzhou City. The analysis of pnad5and prrnS genes of frog Sparganum polymorphisms found that pnad5and prrnS genes can be effective genetic marker. The study lay down the foundation for classification identification and farther molecular epidemiology investigation of frog Sparganum.
