The objective of the study was to discuss the effect and the physiology mechanism of5Elytrigia species salt tolerance by supplying the nitrogen application under different salt solution. The purpose was to improve the yield and the saline soils. The experiment was conduct on5Elytrigia species with optimal nitrogen application under different salt solution (0%,0.3%,0.6%,0.9%,1.2%,1.5%respectively) and the main results were shown as the following:1. The germination index of5Elytrigia species present the single-peak trend. The germination rate and the germination index were increasing sharply when the s alt concentration were between0.3%to0.8%. The POD activity, the free proline c ontent and the soluble sugar content were firstly increase and then decrease respecti vely, and there was negative effect on the seed activity when the NaCl concentratio n was above0.8%.The relative electrical conductivity increased with the increased s alt concentration. And the level of injury was YM>MY>ZJ>JS>AK.2. The nitrogen application rate can promote the plant growth and development. And every specie had an optimal nitrogen rate, and the optimal nitrogen rate of AK, ZJ, JS, MY and YM was270kg/ha,270kg/ha,360kg/ha,360kg/ha,270kg/ha respectively.3. The salt tolerance can be improved with the optimal nitrogen application. And the salt tolerance was ZJ> MY> AK> YM>JS.
