Infectious bursal disease (IBD) was an acute and highly sexual contact disease which wascaused by infectious bursal virus. It was not only increases the susceptibility of birds to otherpathogens by causing immunosuppression, but also could make loimic vaccine response abilitydrop, eventually led to immune failure, maked serious harm to breeding industry. At present, theresearches of infectious bursal disease were many, focused on etiology, epidemiology, antigen andvirulence variation, but it was scattered visible on the research of the disease from the perspectiveof oxidation-antioxidant balance system. After chicks infected with IBDV, its oxidative damageaggravated, oxidation-antioxidant balance was broken, tissues and organs were damaged seriously,cells were died and cracked. So, to reveal the influence on oxidation and anti-oxidation of chickswhich were infected with virulent IBDV, and detect the activities of T-SOD, GSH-Px and thechanges of MDA, NO and iNOS contents in blood by detection kits and elisa method; the relativequantity of iNOS mRNA in lymphocytes was detected by Real Time PCR, the experimentresearched Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV) on the oxidation and anti-oxidation indexes ofchicks in blood roundly and systematacially. The experiment could provide the scientifiticevidence for expound of immunosuppressive mechanism, the prevention and cure of IBD as wellas provide an important scientific experimental basis for vaccine research and production. Theresults were as follows:1. After21age SPF chicks infected with IBDV, the activities of T-SOD, GSH-Px in serumwere sgnificantly or extremely significantly reduced (P<0.05or P<0.01), These results indicatedthat after chicks infected with IBDV, the serum antioxidant enzyme synthesis ability was abate, itsantioxidant ability was abate, led to antioxidant function of infected chicks was reduced.2. After21age SPF chicks infected with IBDV, the contents of MDA, NO in serum weresignificantly or extremely significantly increased (P<0.05or P<0.01), These results indicated thatafter chicks infected with IBDV, their lipid peroxidation process increased and biosynthesis of freeradicals increased. Showed that IBDV infection caused tissue and organ damage of chicks whichwas closely related to free radicals increased.3. After21age SPF chicks infected with IBDV, the contents of iNOS in serum and the expression of iNOS mRNA in lymphocytes of blood were much higher than those of controls(P<0.05), These results indicated that IBDV could stimulus iNOS mRNA transcription andexpression, the contents of iNOS increased, NO produced largely, played a role of antivirus withina certain range, as a kind of free radicals, NO could further sharpen the oxidative damage in thebody, played a role of cytotoxicity.
