Objective: To compare the advantages and disadvantages between RadicalGastrectomy with or without Jejunostomy in clinical outcome.Methods:111cases of Radical Gastrectomy candicates chosen from GastrointestinalSurgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University fromJanuary to December2010, including49cases with Jejunostomy as theexperimental group,62cases without Jejunostomy as the control group.Evaluation parameters contain the postoperative intestinal functionrecovery time, the postoperative duration of hospitalization, thepostoperative nutritional support expenses and the rate of postoperativecomplications. Results: The postoperative intestinal function recovery time of the experimentalgroup and control group were39.3±2.2h and48.6±3.6h(P<0.05),respectively. the postoperative duration of hospitalization of theexperimental group and control group were10.1±1.9d and14.1±2.6d(P<0.05), respectively. the postoperative nutritional support expenses of theexperimental group and control group were1148.1±249.6yuan and3537.0±877.2yuan (P<0.05), respectively. There were nopost-jejunostomy complications in the experimental group. there were nosignificant differences in the complications rate of Radical Gastrectomybetween the experimental group and control group (6.1%vs6.4%, P﹥0.05).Conclusion: Radical Gastrectomy with Jejunostomy for early enteral nutrition couldaccelerate the postoperative intestinal function recovery, reduce thepostoperative duration of hospitalization, decrease the postoperativenutritional support expense, and could not occur post-jejunostomycomplications and increase the postoperative complications of Radical Gastrectomy. So Radical Gastrectomy with Jejunostomy is worthy ofrecommendation.
