Expression Of Acidic Mammalian Chitinase And Eotaxin-1in Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

Objective Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRSwNPs) is a prevalent disorder that is both complex andheterogeneous.Although multiple infectious triggers have been suggested, no commonetiology has been。 But recent research has implicated allergic reaction and chronicinflammation。 Eotaxin-1is a potent eosinophil attractant and can induce eosinophilrecruitment and activation in the airways of asthmatics. physiological function of the secondmammalian chitinase, AMCase, has recently attracted considerable attention due to a reportlinking the protein to the pathophysiology of asthma。To investigate the expressions of Acidicmammalian chitinase (AMCase) and eotaxin-1in CRSwNPs and inferior turbinate tissues(ITTs).Methods Fourty-five subjects with nasal polyps and fifteen subjects with nasal septumdeviation were included in the study. The polyps and inferior turbinate mucosa were obtainedas the tissue samples. Reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction was used to analyzeand compare the expression levels of AMCase and eotaxin-1in nasal polyps and inferiorturbinate tissues (ITTs).RESULTS AMCase and eotaxin-1were detected in all nasal polyps and ITTs. Theexpression ratio of AMCase mRNA was42.24±12.85in nasal polyps and5.46±1.17inITTs. The expression ratio of eotaxin-1mRNA was11.93±2.89and2.43±1.37, respectively.The expression of AMCase and eotaxin-1mRNA was significantly higher in nasal polypsthan in ITTs (p <0.05).CONCLUSIONS Our results reveal that AMCase and eotaxin-1may be important mediatorsin the pathogenesis of nasal polyps. AMCase and eotaxin-1were detected in the two groups.That suggests existing physical expression quantity in normal tissue, when receiving themicrobial stimulation, the expressions is increased.The expressions of Acidic mammalianchitinase (AMCase) and eotaxin-1mRNA is related to nasal polyps,and AMCase andeotaxin-1might be the index of correlation about prognosis.
